Manuka Lodge

Manuka Lodge, our home, was newly built in early 2008. It sits majestically at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac, enjoying a peaceful rural outlook which belies its proximity to Ohakune shops and eateries. It is perfectly located for exploring the many attractions of the central North Island, including both the Tongariro and Whanganui National Parks. We take great pleasure in helping our guests to make the absolute most of their stay in the area be it for quiet relaxation or fun packed activity.

Manuka is a purposely designed, two-storey lodge with four guest bedrooms, sleeping up to ten people in total. Two of our guest rooms are downstairs and two upstairs. All rooms have private en-suite bathrooms and one of these, our queen room, has been designed for people with disabilities. We offer accommodation on a bed and breakfast basis.

On the ground floor there is a large, open plan lounge and dining area for guests to use. The lounge is equipped with a cosy log-burning open fireplace, comfy sofas and a 42” flat screen television. There is also a drying room and plenty of space to store ski, tramping, fishing or biking paraphernalia. An exciting recent addition is a luxurious outdoor Hotsprings spa pool.

The lodge is double glazed and thoroughly insulated throughout. It is also fully centrally heated, European style, providing under-floor heating downstairs and radiators upstairs, giving our guests maximum comfort all year round. Toasty warm in the winter and wonderfully cool throughout the summer, it's your perfect choice of a place to stay any time of year.

Rimu Walk - This track loops off the Mangawhero Forest Walk. It meanders gently through an understorey of ground ferns and kamahi and crisscrosses a quiet mountain stream.Read more...
